When I hear ARKA, I cannot help myself but to think of the
Hindu/Indian origin solar deity who is also known as Surya, God of the sun. In
this case, this is not what the fashion brand is talking about, but more of the
meaning king of kings. By embracing the
mindset of refusing to follow trends and creating designs with purpose, ARKA clothing created concepts of individuality and creativity. ARKA is about a
collective of complex-minded individuals with one goal in mind…to create art
you can wear.
ARKA stands for the embodiment of the mindset of individuals
who are well rounded and can’t define themselves with a single word or phrase.
Established in July of 2009, co-founders Shant Der Ashodian, Burag Celikian and
Sevan Aliksanian built the brand with one goal in mind, and that is with the
goal of providing quality street-wear while meticulously paying attention to
detail. This translates in artistic design of an eclectic blend of various
influences from around the world.
I can see some of the esoteric and theosophical symbolisms
embedded in its designs with a hint of Imaginary Foundation and Salvador Dali.
Pretty cool designs. This is a true story of sacrifice as each co-founder made
life-style changes to make room to focus on their new business and passion. This self-sacrifice, focus and will power are
what drove the brand to where is today. Presently you can find this brand in
various locations including Nordstrom, Fred Segal, Akira, MGM Resorts in Vegas,
Boogie’s in Aspen, Bloomingdales, Simons in Canada and online fashion
conglomerate Karmaloop.com.
So here it is…ARKA clothing. Delivering a new
side in fashion. So the next time you find yourself looking for something new,
fresh and unique...take a look at ARKA clothing. As always you can leave
