That’s
right. But this isn’t about me ranting on conspiracy theories, or how you feel
about your confidence or reliance on integrity...
strength, ability, or surety on someone. What I am talking about is the DTA Posse that is responsible for one of the hottest cult-favorite street-wear brands that is out right now. DTA, which stands for “Don’t Trust Anyone”, is not just about flashy edgy trends and controversial designs. DTA had a far deeper purpose and created a more diverse culture that represents being part of not just in the world of fashion, but making contributions in having their own competing skateboarding team, while also dabbing into motorsports scene.
Johan “Yo” Esbensen is the founder and president
behind the street-wear label Rogue Status/DTA Posse. The story behind this DTA
label is about the reflection of what “Yo” felt, when he moved from New York to
California. Just as anybody who moves drastically from one state to another, to
which I myself can attest to, it is hard to find new people who you could
trust. This is what sparked “Yo” with the idea of the brand. “Yo describes Don’t Trust Anyone as an
ideology to dig deeper and question things, and not just take everything at
face value”.
A lot of people know this exact feeling and understand and
go by this ideology, so it is no wonder why DTA is becoming one of the most
popular street-wear clothing brands in the market. It also helps that he has a
business partnership with Travis Barker from Blink 182, and Rob Dyrdek who owns
the popular street-wear brand DC Shoes, host several TV shows and sponsors many
events. This type of co-ownership allows for stronger financial and distributional
resources. With this multiple platform distribution as their resource, the DTA
label was able to sell and distribute their products in websites such as
DRJAYS.com, Karmaloop.com, Zappos.com, and physical stores in the malls such as
Pacsun, Moose, Tilly’s, Active, LIDS and others.
